As well as day to day chores of cleaning and maintenance, there have been several other jobs ticked off the list today, including making new canvas bags for the rope that will be used to haul our fishing pots when we are in Greenland, fixing a faulty toilet pump, reorganising the galley and tightening up some slack belts on the main engine.
We managed to make the most of a freshening south westerly breeze by setting all sail, save for the mizzen and main topsails, to put us on a steady beam reach with great speed.
Our good fortune was short lived, however, when the decent sailing wind started to veer towards the west and die off, forcing us to turn on the engine once again and motor sail.
Now we are heading on through damp, murky weather and rolling ocean swells waiting for the wind to turn to the north east as forecast, which should see us on our rhumb line straight to Iceland.
Whether or not we can rely on the forecast is a different story!
